One Page Love collects sites built on a single scrolling screen and publishes them with short descriptions. Being featured in such a gallery means gaining the attention of designers looking for successful solutions specifically for one-page presentation. For a studio that works with interfaces and animation, this is a professional-circle platform, not mass traffic.
The Sponge Digital & Design US card describes the landing page of the studio's American division. The editors noted its "impressive intro slideshow background animations as well as a dark scheme with good contrast." The site was published on August 3, 2015; the author is not listed on the card and appears as Author unknown. The direct link to the site has now been removed, and the landing page itself, as noted on the card, has been redesigned or turned off.
A studio already in the spotlight
The publication on One Page Love was not the bureau's first recognition. Back on December 5, 2013, Awwwards gave an Honorable Mention to the previous version of the studio's website. Awwwards is one of the main international awards in web design, and an Honorable Mention there is considered a notable signal to the professional community. In 2014, Ukrainian and industry publications wrote about the studio: Nice One I Like published a feature on the bureau on March 17, and Innabits ran an interview with executive director Kirill Solyar on August 19. That same year, DesignWebKit analyzed the symmetry of the Sponge site's menu.
By 2015, the studio had accumulated a series of awards on the main site. The bureau's site received a CSSDA WOTD mark on May 24, then CSS Nectar SOTD on May 29, CSS Light FOTD on June 3, and CSS Winner SOTD on June 13. These galleries recognize sites of the day (SOTD), week (WOTD), and even photo sites (FOTD) by various criteria. The series continued with BestCSS SOTD on July 20, CSSReel Winner on July 27, and Awwwards SOTD on August 8, where the site scored 7.03.
Awards of the American site
The landing page for the American market followed a similar path, but faster. In addition to the CSS Winner nomination and the One Page Love publication on August 3, on August 10 it received BestCSS SOTD, its first award. On August 14, CSSDA recognized the site in the Special Kudos category with a score of 7.57. This trajectory matched the work of other clients of the studio from the same period: Geeks Empire received CSS Light on June 23 and a CSS Winner nomination on June 29; Foundator received a CSS Winner nomination on July 11 and BestCSS SOTD on July 21.
Within Ukraine, the work was also noticed. In the UD 2015 competition, the Sponge D&D site received the Best of B-1 category, and on October 22 at the Golden Site 2015 awards, the studio's main site took first place in the Digital Agency Website nomination. The Foundator site made the top three in financial media, and Estetico placed third in educational projects and blogs. The studio's rating in the developers' ranking was 9 points, placing it in the 17–19 range.
What happened next
Bohdan Hnatiuk, the founder of the bureau, was building a system in 2015 in which awards became part of client work. Later, in his Rating Runeta profile, he was listed as CEO from 2019 to 2021. This transition from design to studio management was a logical continuation of what had begun with international galleries.
The American landing page itself continued to attract attention from industry resources. On October 14, 2015, the site appeared on AndySowards, after which the studio continued working with clients and participating in competitions, and its first winter series of awards came in December 2015, when Kvadrat received CSS Winner SOTD on December 19.
