Lexenger: legal service in messengers among recognized projects

By · · 3 min read

In December 2016, Lexenger, a service that lets you contact a lawyer via any messenger and get advice online, was nominated on two international platforms: CSS Winner with a score of 7.6 and Web Guru Awards. The logo and digital promo for the project were created by studio Sponge D&D. Legal services in chat format were just emerging then, and design recognition helped the new service stand out.

Consultation in a messenger and two competitions

Lexenger allows you to contact a lawyer via any messenger and get advice online. For the client, this meant a shift from visiting an office to chatting in a familiar app. The format was just coming into use, so the service's appearance played a notable role. The logo and digital promo were created for the project by the Ukrainian studio Sponge D&D, founded by Bohdan Hnatiuk.

The first platform was CSS Winner, an international resource where websites and digital works are scored and receive the titles Nominee, Star, and SOTD (Site of the Day). On December 7, 2016, Lexenger became a nominee with a score of 7.6. For the studio, this path was familiar: the bureau's own site received SOTD on CSS Winner on June 13, 2015, with a score of 7.5.

The second platform was Web Guru Awards, where works are evaluated by users via likes. In the Recent nominees block, the project's page, titled "Lexenger By Sponge D&D from Ukraine," showed 17 likes and 88 views as of December 28, 2016.

The "Guru of the Day" status sometimes mentioned in connection with the project is not confirmed. On the page dated December 28, Lexenger was listed as a nominee, without such a title.

The studio in the 2016 season

The December nomination capped a busy year. On January 30, 2016, Furgoneta received an Honorable Mention on Awwwards, and on February 4 it became SOTD on CSS Winner. Later that year, Trendon, Defence Group, White Tetris, and Simbrella appeared on CSS Winner's list. The latter received the Star title on December 11, four days after Lexenger's nomination.

The year's results confirmed this. At the Golden Site 2016 awards, Furgoneta and Trendon took first place in their categories, and in the developers' ranking both scored 10 points and occupied places 13 through 18. In the 2015/2016 season of the VRK rating, Sponge was 8th among digital agencies with 29 points, and in the 2016 Runet Creativity Ranking it was 11th.

What happened next

In 2017, the list of awards continued. BizzGrid received an Honorable Mention on Awwwards on January 16 and SOTD on CSS Winner on January 17. On February 4, M1 Club Hotel received two awards at once: SOTD on CSS Winner and SOTD on BestCSS. The restaurant project Hijina from Odesa became a CSS Winner nominee on February 14. In the fall, the studio was noted for work on Pivovarov: SOTD on CSS Winner on August 23, and on Awwwards on August 25 the project received both SOTD and Developer Award. Style Whisperer was noted with an Honorable Mention on Awwwards on September 13 and the Star title on CSS Winner on September 16.

The 2017 Runet Creativity Ranking placed Sponge 4th with 23.32 points. In 2018, the bureau dropped to 10th place with 12.25 points, and in 2019 it took 37th place, scoring 4.59 points.
