Professor Mindaugas Kvietkauskas, dean of the Faculty of Philology at Vilnius University, told Lietuvos radijas about the end of the collaboration.
“I inform you that as of August the employment contract with Andrey Desnitsky will be terminated,” Lietuvos radijas quotes him as saying.
According to the radio station, Desnitsky had worked at the university as a researcher and lecturer since last autumn; he previously lived in Moscow. In his publications addressed to a Russian audience, according to Lietuvos radijas, he denied the occupation of Lithuania and the two other Baltic states.
In those texts he claimed that Stalin did not occupy these countries but merely insistently demanded their accession to the Soviet Union.
