Belkovsky announced his decision on Wednesday at a press conference held together with NBP leader Eduard Limonov. The then-president of the Institute of National Strategy said that political analyst Mikhail Remizov would take his place. The meeting with journalists itself, like the explanations that followed, was devoted not so much to the change of leadership at the INS as to the theme of revolution in Russia.
Two Books and Co-authorship with Limonov
After the press conference, Belkovsky told a correspondent that he intended to devote himself to writing. According to him, he is writing two books — one about Khodorkovsky, the other about revolution in Russia. He wrote the second together with Eduard Limonov.
“Right now I am writing two books — one about Khodorkovsky, the other about revolution in Russia. I am writing it together with Eduard Limonov. It is called 'Revolution for Four Hands.' We will make revolution together,” said Stanislav Belkovsky.
The Scenario of a “Color Revolution” and a “Constructive Coup”
According to Belkovsky, the scenario of a “color revolution” could repeat itself in Russia, but, in his estimation, it would not be as bloodless as in Georgia or Ukraine. The political analyst saw his task as preparing a “constructive state coup.”
These statements and forecasts were presented as the assessments of Belkovsky himself and his co-author on the book; at that time they were not backed by confirmed events. The change of head at the Institute of National Strategy and Belkovsky's plans to focus on writing were announced publicly — these are the only factual changes that were reported.
