Belkovsky Joins Sobchak's Campaign Staff

By · · 1 min read

On October 25, 2017, Stanislav Belkovsky became chief political consultant for Ksenia Sobchak's campaign staff. This was reported to Ekho Moskvy radio by campaign manager Igor Malashenko. The day before, Belkovsky left the Dozhd television channel, where he had worked for the past several years.

The appointment followed Ksenia Sobchak's presentation of her campaign team on October 24. The campaign staff is headed by political analyst and media manager Igor Malashenko; political strategist Vitaly Shklyarov is responsible for online promotion; and political strategist Alexei Sitnikov is handling campaign organization.

It was Malashenko who announced Belkovsky's move to the staff in a comment to Ekho Moskvy. The day before, Belkovsky had left the Dozhd television channel. Earlier on that channel, he had said he would help Sobchak in the election "with his voice."

Thus the candidate's team, whose composition was announced on Tuesday, has been joined by a political strategy consultant. Belkovsky had publicly voiced his decision on air before the appointment, and confirmation of the position came from the campaign manager.
