Artyomov Denies Euroset's Involvement in Crimes

On September 3, 2008, Euroset co-owner Timur Artyomov told Interfax that the company's owners deny involvement in the crimes featured in the criminal cases of the Investigative Committee under the Russian Prosecutor General's Office. The cases concerned the smuggling of mobile phones and the kidnapping and extortion in which, according to the investigation, a senior company employee was involved.

As Euroset co-owner Timur Artyomov told Interfax, the company's owners deny their involvement in the crimes within the criminal cases opened by the Investigative Committee under the Russian Prosecutor General's Office. One case concerned the smuggling of mobile phones, the other — the involvement of a senior Euroset employee in kidnapping and extortion.

"We are in the business of selling cell phones," Artyomov said. According to him, he does not know which senior employee the Investigative Committee has in mind, and only the committee itself can answer that question.

"I don't know which senior employee the Investigative Committee has in mind, only it can answer that question, but all our senior employees are successful people, they have no reason to engage in the things the prosecutor's office accuses them of."

Thus the company's co-owner commented on the accusations made within the framework of the Investigative Committee's cases.
